Let's get some real feedback, not knee-jerk reactions. Sure, if you get a block on your account, let us know that via the Support system. But please don't post anecdotal comments without having worked with the system, because it's too easy to say "Yeah, and my grandmother was blocked for two weeks for botting, and she doesn't even have a computer!"

(Forgive me, I'm not making light of those who have had problems. But I'm betting my bottom dollar that there are far fewer than some people want you to believe.)
So, when a post doesn't consist of 'We love you guys' it's a knee jerk reaction made up of exaggerated lies? Well done. Implement a bad system and then insult the community.

use logic plz.

I'm not talking about a perfect team ra, i'm saying that when you have a team with 3 monks and a heal rit, vs a team with 2 monks a wamo and a cold rit... both teams will get nothing out of it.

If you also a good monk with a crappy team, and you fight a team with another team with a good monk and a crappy team... the battle will... linger for along time too. There comes a time when you have to /resign, the only problem is, well there seems to be a correlation between crappy players and not being able to target, read team chat, and having the want to try to solo everything. DO you really think they know or will /resign because 1 person on their team /resigns?

The actual valid support for punishing leavers in RA is the fact that TA exists.
There are no obligations in video games, except now there is in GW...the new Dishonor system clearly states "You are obligated to not leave the match early because you think you are too good to continue on."

If you're ticked because your team isn't very good, tough it out and do your best. At the end of the match, you are NOT obligated to keep playing in PvP. You don't have to keep playing with the same team. Go do something else...PvE, watch TV, whatever.

The people who chronicly leave matches, have pissed off a lot of regular players in GW. Anet is trying to do something to punish these people and make it harder for teams to lose matches because they are undermanned.

The system is not perfect, but it's a great start.

If this situation happens, then the battle will last 8, or less often 12 minutes. I'm sorry if that is too much time. I'd rather spend 8 minutes in a stalemate than spend 2 hours trying to get on a team without leavers.

While I think this is needed in PvP I feel we give the players to many ways to be stupid. At fifty a day I see ppl reporting each other for nothing at all just to see the how many reports they can make. I say limit it to five or less a day. That way they need to make it count not what I was reported for today in AB: 1. Playing a noobish build 3 reports (touch ranger) 2. Beating a shadow prism assassin who claimed "You hacked the system dis build has 2 kill, ima report you fur cheating" 3. Having pvp in my name??? 4. Killing someone who told me not to. 5. Danceing on an enemy corpse 6. Kiting "Get back here loser!!!! ima report you for being a noob"

Ahhhhhhh stupidity is much too prevelent on GW.

The entire discussion is whether that obligation should even exist. Stating that it does exist is meaningless - we know that, that's why we're debating it.

Again, the only reason that argument is valid is because TA exists. It has absolutely nothing to do with helping your fellow player, which is what I was pointing out in my earlier post.

I heart Anet. But after reading how the system was going to work, this was my exact fear. It's no secret that there are a fair amount of people who bully through the safety of their computers. My thoughts drifted to the other day when I was ABing and someone was running an exceptional tank build. He sat in a shrine and wouldn't leave, while probably 10 guys were attempting to kill him. Their inability to kill him quickly lead to frustration and they started verbally trying to beat the guy, calling him the standard "noob" to basically accusing him of cheating.

This is the kind of scenario that would lead me to worry about false reporting. Also, bonders in Fort Aspenwood tend to get a bunch of haters on them when they bond the gate eles at the end. I don't doubt people would use the /report function as a way of taking out their frustrations.

What would be nice is an instant alert that you've been reported, and a way to /dispute or something.

The REAL problem is leechers. I wonder why /report couldn't just trigger a script to see if the said offender is standing still and/or not attacking or using skills.

I do think that you should get negative reports for getting the door during AB because it does hurt your team. I understand that life might throw a curveball at you sometimes (like a door ringing) but if UPS dropoffs are allowed, next it's getting a glass of water, or taking out the trash or something else. When you leave your keyboard you leave your teammates without support, and I figure that's the purpose of this whole /report thing.

I'm sure, but if you allow free leaving, then people will leave when the team is not perfect. I'd much rather have this small inconvenience than have 1-2 leavers in 9 out of 10 matches.

I agree. I believe the system can work, just has a few bugs like everything else that is new.

I agree that alot of the posts saying they were punished are not true.

Its hard not to be a leaver in Random Arenas because people always want to play to win and find the good balanced or "dream" team to win. Thats what Team Arenas are for. The idea of Random Arenas has to return to original roots. Being put with random people with random builds is what it is all about. Yes it sucks to be stuck with a bunch of people with noobs builds. Get over it, its just a game and its part of Random Arena.

Tbh, (knowing that this mess will be fixed) i find it rather funny and i use it as an indicator. For what? It tells me i'm doing my job, really well.

EDIT: Fenix hit the nail on the head. Either Gaile is trying but failing to avoid a boiling issue, or really has absolutely no clue about what's happening in one of the most popular PvP gametypes.
Umm.. you know you can only be reported by your own team right? (which means you weren't doing your job).

it's just like on k5... user-based moderation winds up being abused. the trolls take it over and wield it as a weapon against everyone they don't like. i hope it happens soon, and they see the damage it does and yank it.

If they know a /kick command will be abused, what on earth made them think the /report command wouldn’t be.

I take it as, since they have enough dishonor points due to false reports that they are being punished for doing nothing wrong.

... i play/ed ra alot... i know how often u get leavers and how often you don't. I know there are alot of leavers, but it was nothing compared to being 2 hours of enter reenter. I know ur'll trying to say added up, but the same goes for what is happening now. It seems every other game u get a game with u could have saved dunno 5-10 minutes if you just left early. Ppl know when they have lost, and if those "leavers" used /resign it would be a different case, but this is RA- PEOPLE DO NOT KNOW WHAT /RESIGN IS.

this system is only worse though. Dishonorment for leaving a match instead of waiting 12 minutes for it to be over? thats dishonorment for u?

i play ra because:

1. in ta there are teams where they want specific builds(sometimes ts- which i cant use b/c of dlup), and then others which u know will fail whom their players should go to ra.

2. because ra is much more convienent than going to ta, finding a group and setting up. When i go to TA i don't often find any groups with potential, most of those groups are guild groups, but the ones i find are just random nub pugs, or ones that want u to use ts/vent.

Yes, random arenas maybe have random builds and random ppl, and those may suck, but its not the reason I leave. I leave when your stuck in a battle that you know you are going to lose. I leave when im stuck with 4 monks. I leave when my other team is stuck with 4 monks and im stuck with a mending wamo with1 atk skill, and 3 heal rits, I leave when my team dies, but there is one person who won't die no matter what, I leave.

I can't leave.

i believe hes actually trying to say that everyone would kill each other, but in modern day...
im pretty sure the areas with the lowest crime rates are the ones with the highest gun rates atm. aka texas. maybe its not texas but its one of those hic states. Also i think its in switzerland or something, alot of ppl have like automatic rifles or dunno something, and they have one of the lowest crime rates too.

would U mug somone with a gun?

anyway lets get back on topic

dishonor system is fubar
